WASCA operates under the auspices of Articles of Incorporation and a set of Bylaws. The business and affairs of WASCA are managed by a Board of Directors that are elected by the WASCA Delegates at the Annual February WASCA Meeting.
There are 10 voting members on the Board. There is an Executive Committee made up of 4 officers as well as 6 Regional Directors.
The Executive Committee consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. These 4 positions are elected for a term of 1 year that begins June 1. The 6 remaining positions are Regional Directors and the term of those positions is 3 years. The Regional Director terms are staggered so that only 2 of those positions are up for election each year.
There are several non-voting Associate Director positions that are appointed by the President with the approval of the Board. Two permanent Associate Director positions required by the Bylaws are: Editor, Calls 'n' Cues; and Past President Ex-Officio.
The other Associate Director positions are appointed on an as-needed basis and will vary in number. The Festival Directors for the upcoming WASCA Spring Festival and next WASCA Spring Festival are always Associate Director positions.
Each WASCA club appoints a representative to be a WASCA delegate. The delegates elect the 10-member Board of Directors. Click Delegates page to see some of the rights and responsibilities of WASCA delegates.
The full Board of Directors currently meets as a group 10 times over the course of the year, every month except August and December. The Executive Committee of the Board also meets in August and December. Regular Delegates' meetings are held in September, November, February and May
